And the sheep are all behind him, they said “we’ll follow where you go”
“The flock won’t leave me alone at all, I wonder if i’ve seen my own demise”
“Can you show me my way home?” came a cry from the shepherd’s heart
But much to his surprise, he couldn’t see a single star
And he walked up to the mountain edge and said to the sheep
“You’ll make it if you fly” (and they all died)
“I don’t think I’m evil” said thе shepherd to the world
“I’m acting by thе letter to the will of the voices I heard”
And off into the distance was a soul who looked the same
And although they could see eye to eye they were both caught in the rain
And ultimately war would come and bring its fair share
Of death to all humanity but no one seems to care
And they mask it all by telling us that war is how we mend
And no matter how much death is caused there’ll be peace in the end
“I don’t think I’m finished” said the shepherd standing tall
“I won’t rest until my mind is forced upon them all”
And the similar soul was standing fair and said “I’ll do the same
We can race to see who’ll be the first to take all of mankind’s brain”
And ultimately lies would come and take our thoughts away
By stealing our rationality and by doing what they say
And they hide it all by telling us that it’s for the greater good
But we can’t see the prosperity so I guess we’ve misunderstood
The shepherd saw, his sheep in pain
And he said to them “I’ve nothing to my name”
“Is that all?” one sheep did cry
“You’ll save yourself and leave us all to die?”
The shepherd’s now back home
Although it took him quite a while
And all the friends he’d made
He’d left them stacked up in a pile
And he marched onto the beat of the drum
And he turned around and saw how far he had come
But as he got back home
He saw the similar soul
With leather on his side
He’d be soon to take a toll
But the soul drew quick and he fired first
And the shepherd saw that the sky had nothing more
Nothing to see
Nowhere to go
No one to feel
And no place to call home
