The Strangest Dream Lyrics – Daniel Mackler
Singer: Daniel Mackler
Title: The Strangest Dream
Last night I had the strangest dream
Once I had gone to bed
I dreamed the psychiatric field
Had put an end to meds
I dreamed I saw a mighty room
All filled with women and men
And the paper they were signing said
They’d never prescribe again
They saw the damage they had done
To folks like you and me
And realised they’d betrayed the code
Of practicing ethically
And despite the terror in their eyes
They swore they’d learn some skills
To finally help the folks they’d harmed
Wish shock and restrain and with pills
Then one by one they all began
To weep and sob and and cry
And confess their flimsy research shams
And pharmaceutical ties
And instead of giving orders like
The gods from up above
They opened up their hearts and minds
And finally learnt to love
Last night I had the strangest dream
Once I had gone to bed
I dreamed the psychiatric field
Had put an end to meds
