The Inner Sanctum Lyrics – GrewSum

Title: The Inner Sanctum

Welcome through the creaking door
Sit right down and grab a seat
My name’s Donnie Darkflow, I’ll be showing y’all what you want to see
Morbid tales about stalker creeps in the dark, in the woods where the monsters be

Right now’s where you put the lights down in the room where you wanna be when I start to speak
I’ve got three tales to tell, each one is a little bit twisted
First one’s about the house by the cemetery when you’re trick-or-trеating, you don’t really wanna visit
Got a couple uninvited guеsts in it

Don’t wanna leave and they all came with it
Spirits that can’t rest get a little upset, matter of fact they can even get livid
And the second tale entails a camping trip way deep in the woods
And a group of teens, that if they had ever seen a horror movie they would leave for good

Especially when they see that cabin
Instead of just leaving, they start unpacking
They should know much better, but they don’t
Better hope that nobody lives where they’re crashing

In the third and final tale, the dead come out in swarms
And the one’s that are still alive get by trying to survive all the zombie hordes
That’s really all that I can tell you, but this ain’t goodbye, you know
Follow me through the creaking door, sit down and enjoy the show

Welcome through the creaking door
No idea what you’re in for
Creatures, ghouls, and lots of gore
Welcome to The Inner Sanctum

Give them what they’re asking for
Gritty, grimy, horrorcore
Done a way that you can’t ignore it
Welcome to The Inner Sanctum

Blood and guts all on the floor
Ghosts throughout the corridors
Demons creeping and heathens seeking out victims
Eat ’em like smorgasbords

So welcome through the creaking door
No idea what you’re in for
Creatures, ghouls, and lots of gore
Welcome to The Inner Sanctum

Welcome through the creaking door
No idea what you’re in for
Creatures, ghouls, and lots of gore
Welcome to The Inner Sanctum

Give them what they’re asking for
Gritty, grimy, horrorcore
Done a way that you can’t ignore it
Welcome to The Inner Sanctum

Blood and guts all on the floor
Ghosts throughout the corridors
Demons creeping and heathens seeking out victims
Eat ’em like smorgasbords

So welcome through the creaking door
No idea what you’re in for
Creatures, ghouls, and lots of gore
Welcome to The Inner Sanctum

Hello there. This is your host inviting you through the blood-stained portals of the creaking door through which so many people enter and so few return. So nice of you to drop in you know, I do like to have a body around from time to time. Keeps me in good spirits. Haha. What’s that? Oh, you feel warm, well. Now that may be the fault of the chairs, you see we’ve been redecorating, and the chairs you’re sitting in are “hot seats”. We bought them cheap from a firm that builds prisons. The convicts didn’t like them though. They complained that everyone who sits in those chairs gets absolutely burned alive. Hahaha
Gather round now as we are about to get into the first tale. The setting is a small town, could my any one, could be yours. A young couple finds themselves on a search for their first home and soon they are closing a deal on the one by the cemetery. They must have plans for their future youngings to play, Tag Between the Tombstones. Hahaha. Enjoy
A young happy couple, freshly married
Just bought the old house by the cemetery

The neighborhood knows that it’s extra scary
‘Fore it’s way too close to where the dead get buried
But you know young people, they don’t ever listen
So they purchased it, excited for a place that they could live in

A new place they could call their home
But no matter what they think, this is not their home
What they didn’t know is the stories were true
About the past residents and how they met their doom

And how all past residents resumed to occupy the walls and all of the rooms
But all this they will found out soon as the sun gives birth to the light of the moon
If they were smart they’d move, but they’re not, so this spot will be their tomb
Within these walls lives dozens of souls, no matter what you believe

This is their house where they lived since before we were kids and they live in the air you breathe
So if you choose to stay and not move away, you may not ever get the chance to leave
These apparitions have a grand tradition of adding victims to the land of the deceased
The first night there they were pulled from their dreams

By what seemed to be distant screams
Coming from the window they had opened that day
The same window that overlooked the graves
They looked out and saw nothing

But the woman’s screams just kept coming
They figured they should check it out
They threw on their coats and they left their house
As they walked through the cemetery gates, they had no idea they would meet their fate

Above every grave sat an apparition and every single one was in a horrible condition
They both screamed as the violent souls opened the ground beneath them and swallowed them hole
They were warned but just laughed at the tales
And now that old house is back up for sale

Within these walls lives dozens of souls, no matter what you believe
This is their house where they lived since before we were kids and they live in the air you breathe
So if you choose to stay and not move away, you may not ever get the chance to leave
These apparitions have a grand tradition of adding victims to the land of the deceased

Within these walls lives dozens of souls, no matter what you believe
This is their house where they lived since before we were kids and they live in the air you breathe
So if you choose to stay and not move away, you may not ever get the chance to leave
These apparitions have a grand tradition of adding victims to the land of the deceased

Well now, I have a sinking feeling that young couple might regret their purchase. They seem to be in quite a bit over their heads. Haha. So sad, but they were warned. Now, while we have time between tales allow me to introduce you to some new guests that we just dug up. You see, the fellow to your right was a mountain climber in life. He took his wife on an alpine hike. While they were going up an icy slope he cut the rope that held them together. Said he couldn’t stand being tied to one woman. Hahaha. Now, meet our most forgettable character; Wild-Eyed Willy. One day Willy’s ugly wife bit him, so in anger he buried her in the backyard. Six months later his homely mate came back as a Dogwood tree to haunt him. Now, according to Willy, her bark is worse than her bite. Hahaha
Tonight’s second terrifying tune takes place deep within the woods. The group of four teens out on a camping trip stumble upon an ugly old cabin and decide to spend the night within it. What they don’t know is that they owner is a tad bit strict when it comes to trespassing. Haha. I suggest you keep the lights quite low for this one because as the man who dumped the body into his icebox once said, you are in for quite a chill. Hahahaha. Enjoy
You can hear the chainsaw running outside, but you’re stuck in a room without a place to hide
Shoulda never broke in, shoulda just walked by

Now you’re crying, hoping someone will come and save your life
But there’s no chance though, nobody can hear you
Scream all you want, you’re drawing the killer near you
Every moment worth living is in your rearview now

‘Cause you’re ’bout to get cut the f#ck down, down
A group of friends, two girls and two guys
Set out into the woods to spend the weekend outside
A couple of tents, clothes, and a lot of food

Bags of weed, shrooms, and a lot of booze
They decided to head deep in the timber
To find an old camping spot that they remembered
But somehow they got lost and they happened to come across a dusty, old, run-down cabin

This is better than a camping spot
So they whipped out a screwdriver and broke the lock
Walked in, made themselves at home in this place
Broke out the booze and started to get shitfaced

But not once between shots of Patrón did they stop and think this might be someones home
And that someone is outside alone with a chainsaw and a plan to hack up some bone

‘Cause you’re ’bout to get cut the f#ck down, down
Yeah, he waited for them all to fall fast asleep
And made sure the chainsaw was full of gasoline
As soon as the last candle flickered and went out

He fired up the chainsaw and ran in the house
The first couple in the living room never saw him coming
By the time they woke up they were already bloody
Body parts flew as they finally awoke

Then he pressed the chainsaw blade down on their throats
The couple in the back room woke up
Just to learn that all the windows in the room were nailed shut
There was no place to hide, all they could do was cower

As the footsteps and chainsaw sounds grew louder
He kicked in the door, blood flew from the chain
As it ripped through their flesh, right through to their brains
All he really wanted was to be left alone

And now he can tonight, with a pile of bone
You can hear the chainsaw running outside, but you’re stuck in a room without a place to hide
Shoulda never broke in, shoulda just walked by
Now you’re crying, hoping someone will come and save your life

But there’s no chance though, nobody can hear you
Scream all you want, you’re drawing the killer near you
Every moment worth living is in your rearview now
‘Cause you’re ’bout to get cut the f#ck down, down

You can hear the chainsaw running outside, but you’re stuck in a room without a place to hide
Shoulda never broke in, shoulda just walked by
Now you’re crying, hoping someone will come and save your life
But there’s no chance though, nobody can hear you

Scream all you want, you’re drawing the killer near you
Every moment worth living is in your rearview now
‘Cause you’re ’bout to get cut the f#ck down, down
I bet that played out exactly how you hoped it would. You see, here in The Inner Sanctum there tends to be a pattern. Old cabins in the woods and the owners both tend to have more than a couple skeletons in their closets. Hahaha. Now, a word of advise. If by chance while listening to this third and final gory story, you happen to feel a sliver of steel across your neck. I’d be willing to bet that someone has an edge on you. Don’t be so quick to move though, wouldn’t want you to lose your head. Hahaha

They’re coming to get you Barbara. Hahaha. Yes, this is one of those stories. A tale of The Undead. This version here is quite a youthful take on the subject though. I’d be fine in a zombie attack, you see. I’m quite the athlete and our zombie counterparts don’t quite share our love for fast food. Hahaha. Enjoy
What do you do in an undead world when the plague has infected every boy and girl?
The planet can never recover, and the truth hurts
Because the virus, when it spread, got the youth first

Children fell victim, all the sons and daughters
Just became sick with no reason to offer
The hospital’s became swamped and the doctor’s pronounced the kids dead, but then came the slaughter
Thousands of children to the parent’s surprise

Came back to life with death in their eyes
Lips curled back and not looking the same
They tore through flesh in search of fresh brains
Most parents fell victim to their children

And the few that didn’t had to kill them
The Undead went from thousands to millions
Infesting the woods and the houses and buildings
Hide in the dark

There’s not much you can do when the world is dead
Except try to survive any way you can
Either slay them friend or stay away from them and
Now we embark

On a journey to survive when the world has died
There’s no place to go and nowhere to hide
No time to blink or be terrified in this life
Very few people survived the tragedy

They hide where they can and they wonder what’s happening
The Undead move in swarms like insects
And infest the world ’cause one bite could infect
They ingest intestines and big flesh

Their insides are wretched, yes, it’s just death
The living bored of the grocery store doors
Feeling tortured for having these corpses wage war
It’s a morbid sickening thing when the living seem outnumbered

By vicious things with dinner schemes
It seems like a nightmare, a very vivid dream
Everybody praise that the military will intervene
But what they don’t know is the President is deep

Underneath the Denver airport, peacefully asleep
He’s safe for now and his plan’s to wait it out
So no help is coming, no one can save you now
Hide in the dark

There’s not much you can do when the world is dead
Except try to survive any way you can
Either slay them friend or stay away from them and
Now we embark

On a journey to survive when the world has died
There’s no place to go and nowhere to hide
No time to blink or be terrified in this life
Hide in the dark

There’s not much you can do when the world is dead
Except try to survive any way you can
Either slay them friend or stay away from them and
Now we embark

On a journey to survive when the world has died
There’s no place to go and nowhere to hide
No time to blink or be terrified in this life
You know, you have to admire a zombie to some extent. At least they realize in the literal sense that a good mind is a terrible thing to waste. Hahaha. And on that point my dear friends, we must part ways. But this goodbye is not forever, you see. Next year when the cool Autumn winds begin to blow. When the leaves begin to die and fall, and your local markets are full of reminders of the macabre, I, your host, and the morbid story teller Mister Darkflow will send you out another invitation back through the creaking door and into The Inner Sanctum. But for now, goodbye and pleasant dreams. Hahahaha

The 2011 presentation of Donnie Darkflow’s; The Inner Sanctum was brought to you by Prone Records. See you next year
