When he stepped on stage, the band played this song
And that was what they wanted to hear

And that was music to their ears like
Everybody got up and cheered like
And then that man disappeared
Now the next day, walking down the same street
Same beat playing in his head with the same quick step
Suddenly a man jumped out of his car and said…
“Hey, you’re that guy from last night at the bar
That was pretty good man, hey, I like your sound
Check it out, I’m a record producer from downtown
I’m looking for new acts to sign to my label
I think you’d fit perfectly
How’d you like to work for me?”
He said, “Sorry man, hate to turn you down
But I have to go now and he turned around
He went straight to the bank, got a business loan
Decided that he’d start a record company of his own
He went back to the bar, signed that band
Made a hit record and it started to expand
Now every year he’s raking in over a hundred grand
Stayed true to his roots, now who’s the man?
