Und die Sonne wich der ewigen Nacht
Sie verdeckten den Himmel mit ihrer schäbigen Pracht
Alle Seen waren schwarz und die Wüsten und Berge
Wälder und Meere lagen da in düsterer Schwärze
Ich komm aus einer Zeit vor unserem Land

Keine Menschen, deren Ende immer näher kommt
Und ich werd auch noch dabei sein, wenn all die großen Skylines
Zerfallen und die Erde von den Schatten befreien
Wenn die Sonne auf die Knochen am Boden der großen Bauten scheint
Bevor sie allesamt zu Staub zerfallen
Im Laufe der Zeit erklimmen Bäume die Anhöhe am Wald
Auf den Straßen schlagen sich Pflanzen durch den Asphalt
Die Farne bedecken ganze Etagen
Und begraben die Paläste und Fassaden
Eines Tages recken Bäume ihre Kronen übers Ufer
Steinerne Gemäuer sind mit Moosen überwuchert
Und nach und nach decken Pflanzen alle Straßen zu
Es schießen Blüten in die Höhe, nur ein Atemzug
Und es ist, als wäre das alles nie gewesen
Die Pflanzendecke schluckt alle Spuren dieser Spezies
Und so brechen auch die Zeiger an der Wand
Irgendwann in einer Zeit nach unserem Land
